Saval Parish Centenary: 1920 – 2020

A Century of Faith. A Community United.

The Parish Pastoral Council is delighted to launch our Saval Parish Centenary Celebrations, marking the 100th anniversary of Saval Parish (1920–2020).
While our centenary fell during the COVID-19 pandemic, the restrictions of that time meant it could not be celebrated as we had hoped. Now, as a parish family, we look forward to coming together as One Parish Community – United in Faith to celebrate this significant milestone.

Over the coming year, we warmly invite parishioners, past and present, families, neighbours and friends to join us for a series of special events celebrating our shared history, our vibrant community and our enduring faith.

Our centenary programme begins on Sunday 2 August 2026 with Traditional Mass Rock Sunday, as we gather for 10.30am Mass at the Crohill Mass Rock, remembering the faith, courage and devotion of those who kept the faith alive for future generations.

The celebrations will conclude in April 2027 with our Centenary Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Eamon Martin in St Joseph's Church, Sheeptown, followed by a parish celebration in St Colman's Primary School.

As we reflect on our journey from 1920 to 2020, we also look ahead with hope and confidence, giving thanks for those who built our parish and for all who continue to shape its future.

We hope you will join us throughout this special year as we celebrate our faith, our heritage and our community together.
